On Tuesday, Tottenham Hotspur's Champions League Group B match against Olympiakos Piraeus was turning ugly, with the Greek side leading 2-0 inside 20 minutes. However, Jose Mourinho's decision to substitute Eric Dier for Christian Eriksen proved to be a masterstroke, as Tottenham went on to win the game 4-2.
Speaking after the match, Mourinho revealed that the most difficult part of the evening was making the substitution, which he said 'hurt the player but also hurt me.' However, he praised Eriksen's impact on the game, saying 'Christian gave us what we needed at that time.'
Tottenham's performance was a far cry from their struggles earlier in the game, with Dele Alli leveling the score on the stroke of halftime and Harry Kane scoring twice either side of a thumping effort by Serge Aurier in the second half.
With a home game against Bournemouth this weekend, Mourinho has every chance of starting with three straight wins, as he said 'Next game at home I expect the boys to start without ghosts, open and confident.'
