Kenya's BBI Report Sparks Outrage

Kenya's Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report has been met with widespread criticism from citizens, who feel it is a shallow document that fails to address the country's pressing issues.

Despite the task force behind the report consuming over Sh10 billion, many Kenyans are disappointed with the final draft, which they believe maintains the status quo.

Some have taken to social media to express their discontent, with prominent figures such as Ahmednasir Abdullahi SC and Robert Alai weighing in on the matter.

Abdullahi SC tweeted, 'I have read the full BBI report. A thumping endorsement of the wretched status quo. A total repudiation of a bright future. Desultory and Insincere. A report made to entrench the rule of the ruling class. A false dawn. Another instance of CRUELLY taking the people for ride.'

Alai also expressed his disappointment, saying, 'This #BBIReport will be the excuse for implementing TJRC, Ndung'u and Waki Reports. We don’t need BBI when we have 3 most powerful reports with great recommendations. BBI is Fraud. Read it the whole night and never seen anything shallower. It’s all rename, appoint etc…'

Others have pointed out that the report fails to address key issues such as high rates of unemployment among the youth and high cost of living.

As the country continues to grapple with these challenges, many are left wondering if the BBI report is truly worth the Sh10 billion spent on it.
