The Pishi Indo-Chinese Food Expo is a culinary extravaganza that promises to delight your senses. Taking place from Friday, November 29 to Sunday, December 1, 2019, on the ground floor of the Westgate shopping mall, this event is a must-visit for foodies and culture enthusiasts alike.
With a rich history of cultural exchange between India and Kenya, this expo is a celebration of the flavors and traditions that have been shared between the two nations for centuries. India's history with Kenya dates back centuries, and China was the fourth country to open an embassy in Kenya just two days after Kenya's independence.
Organized by Pishi, an interactive meal solution portal and information meal preparation guide, the expo features a diverse range of culinary delights from various restaurants in Nairobi. Anghiti restaurant has recreated the 200-year-old culinary legacy from the kitchens of Kings and Nawabs of India, while Chowpaty offers pure vegetarian fast food, one of the oldest and most prestigious restaurants in Kenya.
Other participating restaurants include Mr. Yao, a modern Chinese restaurant that offers carefully crafted Dim Sums and Bao, and Bukhara by Haandi, which brings authentic Punjabi curries and the centuries-old tradition of marinated meat cooked in tandoors. Ginza's noodles, Hui Yuan's spring rolls, Ashoka's Paneer Tikka Masala, and sweet Malai Burfi are also not to be missed.
The expo will be officially opened by Rahul Chhabra, High Commissioner of India to Kenya, Wu Peng, Chinese Ambassador to Kenya, and Mr. Stephen Gitagama, Group CEO of Nation Media Group.
