Homa Bay Teacher Found Alive After Going Missing in Nairobi ¶
On November 8, Moses Odumbe, a 49-year-old teacher from Kogana Primary School in Homa Bay, left for Nairobi to mark the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams at St. Georges Secondary School.
However, he went missing on the first day of marking the exams, prompting his family to report his absence at Kendu Bay and Kilimani Police Stations in Homa Bay and Nairobi, respectively.
His family had been searching for him for several days, and on November 26, they received a tip-off from a CCTV footage that revealed his location at Kamukunji grounds in Nairobi.
Collins Odhiambo, one of Odumbe's relatives, told Citizen Digital that they found the teacher sitting at Kamukunji grounds after getting the tip-off.
Odumbe's wife, Joyce, had expressed concern about his disappearance, saying that he had told her that phones were not allowed in the marking room, but she was worried when he could not contact her after marking ended.
By the time the KCPE exam results were being released, Odumbe should have returned home, Joyce said.
Odumbe's disappearance had sparked concerns online, with many Kenyans expressing worry about his safety.
Odumbe was found alive on November 26, after missing for two weeks.
