BBI Report Exposes Kenya's Deep-Seated Problems

On November 27, 2019, various Kenyan newspapers published the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report, which exposed the country's deep-seated problems.

According to the report, Kenyans have lost faith in the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), which has been accused of corruption and inefficiency.

The report also suggested that Boxing Day, which is celebrated on December 26, be replaced with a National Cultural Day, where Kenyans can come together to celebrate and appreciate their culture.

Additionally, the report proposed the inclusion of moral education in the school curriculum, to be taught from primary to secondary school level, under the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution.

The report also called for the establishment of a National Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission to tackle corruption and economic crimes.

Furthermore, the report suggested that government officials be barred from engaging in business with the government, and their assets be publicly declared to prevent corruption.

Lastly, the report proposed that all government services be made available online, with a 100% digital platform.

These proposals are part of the BBI report, which aims to address Kenya's deep-seated problems and promote national unity.

Published on November 27, 2019, the report has sparked a national conversation on the need for reform and change in Kenya.
