Kenya is ready to host the 2019 CANA Zone Three swimming championships at Kasarani Aquatic Stadium, which begins on April 15, 2019. The Kenyan team will be competing against swimmers from across the region.
Team Kenya coach Matthew Cross expressed confidence in the team's preparation, stating that the swimmers are 'very excited and looking forward to competing for medals.'
With a team of 36 swimmers, comprising 17 boys and 19 girls, Cross noted that their aim is not only to win medals but also to provide a memorable experience for the young swimmers competing internationally.
The competition is expected to be a stepping stone for the upcoming swimmers to high-profile international championships, including the Olympics and the Commonwealth Games.
Kenya will face stiff competition from Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi, who have improved their swimming standards over the years. However, with South Africa opting to feature in the open water events, Kenya will be the only team vying for the overall title.
