Manchester City secured a spot in the knockout stages of the 2019/20 Champions League despite a 1-1 draw against Shakhtar Donetsk on November 26.

Ilkay Gundogan scored for Manchester City in the 57th minute, but Manor Solomon equalized for Shakhtar Donetsk in the 70th minute.

The draw at the Etihad Stadium meant that Manchester City qualified for the knockout stages with a game remaining in their group.

Earlier, Pep Guardiola had stated that he would quit Manchester City if he failed to meet the set target this season.

Guardiola's comments were made in his book 'Pep's City: The Making of a Superteam', where he discussed his relationship with Etihad chief Khaldoon Al Mubarak.
