On November 27, 2019, Kirinyaga County Governor Anne Waiguru reaffirmed her commitment to delivering the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) in the Mt Kenya region.
Waiguru dismissed recent criticism from opponents of the BBI, stating that the initiative is unstoppable and will be implemented regardless of opposition.
She emphasized that the BBI is a move that has brought peace to Kenya and that anyone opposing it is a perpetrator of progress.
Waiguru was tasked with spearheading the campaign to garner support for the BBI in the Mt Kenya region, alongside Maina Kamanda, during the Uhuru – Kenyatta arranged Sagana Mt Kenya retreat.
She urged Kenyans to stop wasting time and receive the BBI with the positivity it requires, stating that the initiative is designed to enhance faster and rapid economic growth.
Waiguru criticized a section of the Tanga Tanga allied group for opposing the BBI without valid reasons, terming them as useless crickets that do not deter the cattle from drinking water.
