On November 27, 2019, a leading Forex broker IC Markets in Sydney, Australia, announced the winners of its major international Forex competition. The competition, which ran from mid-May to November, involved trading a £200,000 fund and attracted hundreds of traders from across Africa and the Mediterranean.
51 Capital, a company owned by City tycoon Joe Kariuki, emerged as the Second Best Forex trader in Africa for the year 2019. The company operates under Candy and Candy Records, a highly-rated entrepreneurship company in Nairobi.
Joe Kariuki expressed his gratitude and delight at the monumental win, saying, 'I have been toiling hard at this new venture and to get such a huge honor so soon, to get recognized so fast and by such a reputable firm is beyond humbling. I’m glad that I still have the midas touch I have always had for business.'
51 Capital bagged an impressive £15,000 (Ksh. 1, 975, 622. 75) as the Runners-Up. The winner, Sandile Shezi from South Africa, walked away with a jaw-dropping £20,000 (Ksh. 2,633, 422.43).
Joe Kariuki also announced plans to help people learn to trade Forex, advance capital to the best traders, and open a Nairobi office in partnership with 51 Capital to strengthen their presence in Africa.
