On February 22, 2017, a tragic incident occurred at Kapsita village in Molo, Nakuru. Linet Kemunto, a woman, was allegedly killed by her neighbor, Bethseba Mogoi, in a love triangle gone wrong.
Senior Medical Officer George Biketi from St Joseph Hospital testified in court that Kemunto bled to death from 19 stab wounds to the back, head, and pelvic region. The wounds included four stab wounds on the head, eight deep stab wounds on the back, and four stab wounds on both scapulae measuring 4x2cm.
According to Dr. Biketi, Kemunto's body also had four deep wounds extending to the left lung and liver, as well as stab wounds on the index finger of her right hand, the groin region, and the spinal cord.
Constable Edwin Metto, the investigating officer, informed the court that Kemunto died while being transported to the hospital. He also stated that the husband of the accused was arrested by members of the public and later confirmed that he was at Kemunto's house that night.
However, Constable Metto was unable to recover the murder weapon, which he established was a knife. The hearing will continue on February 4, 2018.
