Manchester United are confident of signing Jadon Sancho, the 19-year-old Borussia Dortmund star who has been attracting interest from Liverpool and other Premier League clubs.

According to The Telegraph, the Red Devils see themselves as the frontrunners in the battle for Sancho's signature, despite not being able to guarantee him Champions League football just yet.

Sancho has made a name for himself in the Bundesliga since leaving Manchester City in 2017 and has become a regular in Gareth Southgate's England squad.

However, his relationship with Borussia Dortmund and manager Lucien Favre has soured in recent weeks following their 4-0 defeat to Bayern Munich, and Sancho was taken off after just 36 minutes in the match.

While a move to Liverpool would likely prove more attractive to Sancho right now, the Reds aren't willing to engage in a bidding war with their rivals.

Earlier this month, Reds legend Steve Nicol insisted Sancho would be 'crazy' to seal a switch to Old Trafford, saying, 'I think he's crazy if he goes to Man United.'

Sancho was quoted by ESPN FC as saying, 'I think he would be fantastic. If he could get his head round playing second fiddle to [Sadio] Mane and [Mohamed] Salah, then that would be huge for Liverpool in my opinion.'
