On November 25, 2019, a disturbing video surfaced on social media, showing a man assaulting a female security guard at Kamorock in Nairobi. The video, which went viral, captured the suspect, later identified as 30-year-old Justus Kamoja, slapping the guard after she obstructed his way.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), detectives were able to identify the suspect after the video gained widespread attention. The DCI expressed gratitude to netizens who put pressure on the police to arrest the culprit.

As seen in the 133-second video, Kamoja was coming out of a white Maruti Suzuki Omni car to open the gate when the guard closed it. The guard's actions seemed to provoke Kamoja, who responded by slapping the woman. The assault continued, with Kamoja hitting the guard harder until she fell to the ground.

Fortunately, the incident did not go unnoticed, and the police were able to apprehend Kamoja. The suspect will be arraigned in court once necessary investigations are complete.

It is worth noting that the video surfaced on International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, a poignant reminder of the need to address violence against women and girls.
