On November 21, 2019, a heated exchange between Mbunge Didmus Barasa and Nairobi County Representative Esther Passaris took place in the Kenyan Parliament.

Barasa had interrupted Passaris while she was presenting a bill, sparking a heated argument.

However, in a surprising turn of events, Barasa later apologized to Passaris and invited her for dinner at 1 pm the same day.

According to reports, Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi had instructed Barasa to apologize to Passaris, which he promptly did.

Barasa acknowledged his mistake and apologized to Passaris, stating, "Bw. Spika ninayakubali makosa yangu na ninamuomba msamaha Passaris, ningependa kumualika kwa chakula cha jioni mwendo wa saa moja unusu."
