Eight Suspects Arrested in Nairobi Car Theft Crackdown

On November 25, 2019, a security crackdown in Nairobi led to the arrest of eight suspects believed to be part of a car theft syndicate.

The suspects were nabbed following the theft of two Toyota Voxy vehicles at Phenom Estate in Lang'ata, Nairobi.

The arrested individuals include John Mwenga Kariuki, Daniel Kabita, Paul Mwaura Karanja, Edward Musonye Ikatwa, Christine Mwongeli Munyao, Alex Kioko, Daniel Gisiri, and Elphas Sula.

Two stolen vehicles, a KCS 757V and KCW 834A Toyota Voxy, were recovered in Umoja and Soweto areas during the security operation.

A Toyota Alphard vehicle allegedly used by the suspects was also impounded by the DCI.

The suspects were detained for further investigations.
