On November 26, 2019, a wave of mob justice swept through Ndumberi Township, leaving two suspected criminals dead.

The victims, identified as 25-year-old Charles Mugo Wanjiku, alias 'Muiko,' and 22-year-old Erick Njuguna Nduta, were accused of being part of a notorious gang terrorizing residents.

According to Kiambu County Commander Ali Nuno, the two suspects had been on the run after engaging police in a gun battle about a month prior.

Residents, frustrated with the government's inability to address the rising insecurity, took matters into their own hands, identifying Muiko's hideout and confronting him.

The gang, suspected of stealing from Mpesa shops, breaking into apartments, and targeting gas cylinder shops in Ndumberi and Ting'ang'a towns, had been evading capture for some time.

Meanwhile, in Mombasa, a police officer was found dead in Bombolulu, Nyali constituency, with allegations suggesting he had been merrymaking at a local bar overnight.

Elsewhere, a family in Sigalagala, Kakamega County, mourned the death of their kin who had just completed his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, while another family in the same county was left reeling after a woman was struck by lightning.
