On November 25, 2019, Constable Eric Mutama, a 30-year-old Administration Police Officer from Tuuti Ap camp in Kibabii location, Bungoma South sub-county, Bungoma County, was arraigned in court.
He is accused of raping and mutilating a 21-year-old female student at Kibabii University. The incident allegedly occurred at the university.
The suspect did not take a plea before Resident Magistrate Wamboi Githogori. Investigation Officer Nicholas Oluoch had requested a seven-day extension to hold the suspect and complete his investigations.
