Kelechi Africana, a talented artiste from Mombasa, has been making waves with his hit song 'Ring'. But before he became a star, he had a different career path - teaching.
According to an interview with Mpasho, Kelechi revealed that he used to teach History, Islam, and Kiswahili. He had been promised a salary raise if he could improve his students' mean score, but when the time came, the raise never materialized.
'I did that but there was no salary raise that came so I decided to quit,' Kelechi said.
He has since moved on to pursue his passion for music, and it seems he made the right decision. 'Ring' has been a huge hit, and Kelechi is currently flying high.
But Kelechi's journey to stardom hasn't been without its challenges. He recalled a time when he accidentally sent a song meant for feedback to a WhatsApp group, and people had already downloaded it.
'It was however a mistake not willingly intended,' Kelechi said.
Despite the setbacks, Kelechi remains drama-free, crediting his busy schedule and love for playing PS for keeping him grounded.
