Interviews for 312 graduates to be hired as Teachers Service Commission interns in Kisii kicked off on Tuesday, November 26, 2019.

Of the successful applicants, 221 will be placed in secondary schools while 91 will be sent to primary schools, according to Kisii County TSC Director Nimrod Kimathi.

Kimathi noted that a total of 3,252 graduates applied for the internship position from the county of Kisii, with certificates verified following online applications.

The quality of certificates and year of graduation were carefully screened, he said.

Speaking after launching the exercise, Mr. Kimathi reiterated that the TSC interns will work for 12 months on a non-renewable contract.

The internship will help the graduates gain experience and relevant work skills, Kimathi said.

Successful applicants will earn a stipend of Ksh. 15,000 and Ksh. 10,000 per month for secondary and primary schools respectively.

Applications were to be uploaded online by October 23 in an exercise that seeks to increase the number of teachers countrywide.
