On November 26, 2019, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) announced that it had postponed the opening of its new headquarters due to the handover of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report to President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House.

According to ODM's Twitter account, the event was rescheduled for Thursday, November 28, 2019, and would be by invitation only. Only those who had received an invitation would be allowed to attend.

However, this decision did not sit well with many of ODM's die-hard supporters, who took to social media to express their dissatisfaction.

Some supporters questioned the criteria used to select the invited guests, while others felt that they had been unfairly excluded from the event.

As one supporter tweeted, 'If @BelAkinyii is not invited in that event mr @edwinsifuna we are going to revisit and you won’t love our come back.'

Another supporter, Kalu Lepariyo, commented, 'I’m an ODM youth leader from Baringo County and haven’t received such an invitation.'

ODM's decision to limit attendance at its headquarters opening has sparked anger among its supporters, who feel that they have been excluded from the event.
