On November 26, 2019, ODM announced that it had postponed the opening of its new headquarters due to the handover of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report to President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House.
The party stated that only invited guests would be allowed to attend the event, scheduled for Thursday, November 28, 2019.
However, this decision did not sit well with some of the party's die-hard supporters, who took to social media to express their dissatisfaction.
Many supporters questioned the criteria used to select the invited guests, with some claiming they had not received invitations despite being loyal party members.
As one supporter tweeted, 'If @BelAkinyii is not invited in that event mr @edwinsifuna we are going to revisit and you won’t love our come back.'
Another supporter, Kalu Lepariyo, commented, 'I’m an ODM youth leader from Baringo County and haven’t received such an invitation.'
