On November 26, 2019, Nokia announced its entry into the smart TV market with a partnership with Flipkart, one of India's largest online marketplaces.

The Nokia smart TV will run on Android 9.0 out-of-the-box and feature JBL-powered audio systems, which are known for their superior fidelity and high range of sounds.

Flipkart has confirmed that the Nokia TV will come with features like Minimal Harmonic Distortion and Clear Vocal Tones, and will be available in the Indian market.

The TV will have a 55-inch panel with 4K Ultra HD resolution and will be the fifth smartphone maker to enter the smart TVs market after Honor, Motorola, OnePlus, and Huawei.

Flipkart has revealed that the Nokia TV will come with Dolby Audio and DTS TruSurround, which will enable high-quality audio playback from the TV's front speakers.

The TV's design has been leaked online by Digit.in, which shows a corner frame design with a brushed metal finish and 'Sound by JBL' branding on the bottom right corner.

Nokia's partnership with Flipkart is not just about a manufacturing partner, but a complete go-to-market strategy with promotions and research-backed product development.

Flipkart conducted market research to determine features for the Nokia TV range, which include JBL-powered audio systems.
