On November 26, 2019, a tree fell onto a car driven by one person at Susu Centre-Industrial Road in Machakos town, leaving the driver injured.
A bodaboda operator, Alex Musembi, witnessed the incident while cycling behind the car. He recalled hearing his passenger shout 'Mti inaanguka' (the tree is falling) as the tree crashed onto the car.
According to Musembi, the car had two passengers inside, including the driver who was injured on the head. The woman passenger rushed the driver to Machakos Level 5 Referral Hospital.
The incident highlights the importance of being vigilant while driving, especially in areas prone to tree falls or other hazards.
