Huawei Y9s Phones Launch in Kenya with Pre-Order Campaign ¶
On November 14, 2019, Huawei launched its Y9s mobile phones in the Kenyan market, marking a significant milestone in the country's smartphone industry.
As part of the launch, Huawei Mobile Kenya rolled out a one-week pre-order campaign, offering consumers the opportunity to pre-order the device and receive free headphones in all retail stores across the country.
The Huawei Y9s smartphone will retail at KSh 31,999 and will be available in the Kenyan market from Sunday, December 1, 2019.
Speaking on the pre-order campaign, Huawei Mobile Kenya Country President Stephen Li expressed confidence in the high demand for the new device, stating that there has been significant interest in the market following the launch of the Huawei Y9s.
"There has been interest in the market following the launch of Huawei Y9s, an indication that there is high demand of our products by consumers who are very confident in our products," he said.
As part of the pre-order campaign, consumers are encouraged to walk into any of the retail stores across the country and make the pre-order. Huawei is confident that over 1000 pre-orders will be made in the coming week ahead of the official availability of the devices in all their retail stores beginning of December.
The Huawei Y9s smartphone features a unique ultra full view display, making it an ideal device for Kenyan gamers. The phone's display takes away all kinds of notches and bezels, treating gamers to 6.59 inches of FHD+ gameplay area.
Motorola, a rival smartphone manufacturer, has also announced plans to bring back its famous flip phone with the foldable twist under the model Razr in January 2020. The Motorola Razr phone will retail at KSh 153,000 and will compete with other high-end smartphones in the market.
