On November 26, 2019, Pastor Ng'ang'a of the Neno Evangelism Center made it clear that his church would not accept coins as offerings, calling it a sacrilegious act.

He argued that coins are worthless and that worshipers who give them are stealing from God, especially during hard economic times.

"Why do we steal from God when we know that the economic times have grown harder?" he posed.

Ng'ang'a's ushers have been trained to warn anyone who drops coins in the collection bags, saying "You are stealing from God, mungu anakuona."

The preacher emphasized that his church would be vigilant in ensuring that no one sneaks worthless coins into the Lord's abode.

He explained that his goal is to restore sanity in church and ensure that God's kitchen never runs dry.

Ng'ang'a also took issue with the fact that those who offer coins in church usually do so to skip neatly arranged notes in their pockets, terming this tendency as a rude joke and insult to the Heavens.
