On November 24, 2019, a tragic event shook the community of Ruaka, Kiambu, when Administration Police officer Daniel Etiang was brutally murdered. The incident has since taken a new and sinister turn, with fresh details emerging that challenge the initial narrative.

According to eyewitnesses, the officers who assassinated Etiang knew him and were his friends. This shocking revelation raises questions about the true circumstances surrounding his death.

Contrary to earlier reports of a shootout, it is now alleged that Etiang's firearm was removed from his waist only after he had been killed. An anonymous witness described the scene, stating that one of the officers fired several rounds in the air using Etiang's Jericho pistol (Serial No. KE AP 43368733) to justify the shooting.

The witness also claimed that the officer who lay injured was finally shot by a woman believed to be a police officer, dressed in civilian clothing.

However, a team of detectives who revisited the crime scene has dismissed reports of attempts to interfere with the CCTV footage. The local DCI argued that the officers had received information about a premeditated attack on two Nigerian nationals and proceeded to the residence, where they found the 'robbers' taking position within the compound.

The deceased officer, a decorated and sharpshooter, had been attached to former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo and was currently working with the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority's chief executive.

Former Governor Kabogo took to Twitter, expressing his shock and outrage at the news, stating, 'The late Etyang was my Assistant for 4 yrs, thereafter worked with the MD KEMSA. I can swear he was not a robber that's BS, cold-blooded murder. The killers should face the full force of the law.'

The late Daniel Etiang's friends have called for a thorough and independent probe into the incident.
