On November 26, 2019, MTG United of Kilifi embarked on a journey to return to the Kenya Women Premier League, a goal they had not achieved since 2012. The team is set to face Sep Oyugis in a National Division One League play-off, which will be held on Saturday in Kitale.

According to coach Fathime Hamisi, the team's objective is to win the match and secure a spot in the 2019-2020 season's top-flight league. 'At the moment, we don’t have any club from the Coast in the premier league, we want to be the only team from this region in the country’s top league,' she said.

MTG United has a strong squad, including two players who went for trials with the Kenya national women’s team, Harambee Starlets, last year. They are defender Mwanaidi Karisa and striker Joyce Khamisi, a Form Two student at St John’s Girls Kaloleni.
