Manchester City's chances of winning the Manchester derby on December 7 have taken a hit with the news that star striker Sergio Aguero will be out for a few weeks with a thigh injury.

According to Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, Aguero hobbled out of the team's 2-1 Premier League win over Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, and it's unclear how long he will be sidelined.

Guardiola confirmed that Aguero will miss the Manchester derby, saying, "Yes, he will be out." When asked if there was any chance Aguero might recover in time, Guardiola replied, "Maybe we will have a miracle, but I don't think so."

Aguero's absence will provide an opportunity for Brazil striker Gabriel Jesus, who has started only eight times this season due to Aguero's presence.

Jesus expressed his disappointment at Aguero's injury, saying, "I am not happy because Sergio is injured. I don't like it when my friends are injured, but I work here every day and I am ready to play."

Guardiola also addressed the future of his highly rated assistant Mikel Arteta, who has been linked with his former club Arsenal. While he acknowledged that Arteta will eventually become a manager, he expressed a desire for him to stay with Manchester City as long as possible.
