On November 26, 2019, musician Akothee took to social media to thank her fans and several celebrities who checked in on her while she was recovering from a bout of fatigue at Karen Hospital in Nairobi.
Among those she thanked were media personalities Lillian Muli and Janet Mbugua, as well as her Ugandan best friend Zari Hassan.
Akothee, who was hospitalized after returning from a trip to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, expressed her gratitude to those who visited her, saying she had learned who she could count on in times of need.

She also thanked her manager, Nelly Oaks, saying he deserved hardship allowance, and appreciated her insurance company for being there for her.
