Published on November 25, 2019, a disturbing video of a man assaulting a female colleague at Eastmatt Supermarket in Kajiado went viral on social media.
The suspect, Ibrahim Kiruti Taraiya, appeared before a magistrate court in Kajiado for plea taking, but the court ordered his detention until December 6th.
The prosecution team argued that Taraiya should be denied bail due to concerns that he might be a flight risk, a key factor in bail denial for suspects.
Taraiya had pleaded with the court to release him on bail, claiming he was the sole breadwinner for his family.
However, the court rejected his plea, and Taraiya was remanded until December 6th.
