On November 23, 2019, Parklands Hockey Club suffered a 2-0 defeat to champions Butali Sugar Warriors at City, further solidifying their position at the bottom of the 10-team KHU Men's Premier League standings.
Despite the loss, head coach Victor Bogonko expressed optimism about the team's future, stating, "We came all the way from the national league to premier league and yes we have been relegated before but we came out strong. So being relegated is not a setback for us because basically for sure we will come back next season."
Butali's coach Denis Owaka hailed his team's performance, saying they will focus on perfecting their penalty corners as they aim to wrap up the season with an unbeaten record. Next, Parklands will face Strathmore University, while Butali will take on Green Sharks on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
