On Sunday, Deputy President William Ruto's speech at the Holy Spirit church in Thika was interrupted by two women seeking his assistance.

The first woman, who was born in Kiharu, cried out for help, saying her child needed urgent surgery and she had no money to pay for it.

Deputy President Ruto helped her up and promised to assist her, but his security detail seemed caught off guard, rushing to pull her away.

However, Ruto intervened, asking his security to let the woman sit on the front pew, where the VIPs were seated, and promised to sort out her issue.

As the crowd cheered, Ruto said, 'We will sort out your issue, aketi hapa na mheshimiwa, aketi hapa dakika mbili ntamuona.'

Just when he was about to proceed with his speech, a second woman rushed to him, crying for help, saying she had lost Sh3.8 million.

Ruto responded by asking her to sit and wait for him to finish his speech, saying, 'Keti hapo, nakuona.'

Video footage of the incident has been shared online.
