Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua has confirmed that Wiper Democratic Movement Party will no longer work with ODM. This decision comes after a long-standing issue of disrespect from Raila Odinga towards Wiper and its leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

According to Wambua, the relationship between the two parties has been strained for a while, and he does not see a possibility of them working together again, not even in 2022.

Wambua's comments come a day after ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna announced that ODM had severed links with the Wiper party. Sifuna revealed that Raila would work with the three Ukambani governors to bolster his chances of clinching the presidency.

On Saturday, Sifuna announced in Kitui that ODM had severed ties with Wiper. He praised the three Ukambani governors - Alfred Mutua (Machakos), Charity Ngilu (Kitui), and Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni) - as 'our true political friends' and thanked them for backing ODM candidate Imran Okoth who won the recent Kibra by-election.

On the same day, Sifuna attended a thanksgiving ceremony for Mutonguni Ward MCA Musee Mati, who won the seat on Maendeleo Chap Chap ticket during a recent by-election. Sifuna said, 'In Kibra by-election, we (ODM) were taking stock of our friends, and we identified them one by one. We do not want people who are friends by the day and enemies by night.'
