On Monday morning, a devastating flash flood swept away a vehicle carrying five members of the same family in Ngatatoek, Kajiado Central.
The victims, two adults and three children, were traveling from Namanga to Bisil in Kajiado when the incident occurred. They had spent the weekend in Tanzania attending a wedding and made a stopover in Namanga for the night.
The bodies of the victims are currently at the Kajiado County Referral Hospital.
Area police commander Daudi Loronyokwe confirmed the incident, urging motorists and residents to exercise caution during the rainy season.
Heavy rainfall in West Pokot on Friday night resulted in a landslide that claimed the lives of over 45 people in the villages of Nyarkulian, Parua, Sepit, and Muino, leaving dozens of families homeless.
