At the Football Writers' Association northern branch managers' awards dinner in Manchester on Sunday, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and Liverpool counterpart Jurgen Klopp were seen posing with their respective trophies.
Guardiola has been keen to win the Champions League, a title Liverpool secured last season, while Klopp's Reds are focused on claiming the Premier League, a trophy they have yet to win.
According to The Athletic, Guardiola jokingly suggested swapping trophies with Klopp, saying, "maybe we can swap?"
Despite their teams' fierce rivalry, the two managers are known to have a good relationship and admire each other from afar.
Both clubs are in strong contention for their respective titles, with Liverpool eight points clear in the Premier League and City well-placed in the Champions League group stages.
Their teams' most recent meeting ended in a 3-1 victory for Liverpool, with Guardiola expressing frustration over some refereeing decisions.
