On Sunday, a devastating fire ravaged a house in Makueni, claiming the lives of four family members.
Regina Mueni, 49, was rushed to Makueni County Hospital after sustaining serious injuries in the fire, but unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries.
Her daughter, Faith Mangeli, 27, and granddaughters Angel and Amelia died on the spot as they were asleep when the house caught fire in the early hours of Sunday morning.
According to Makueni County Commissioner Maalim Mohammed, the fire was a planned incident, with a strong smell of petrol detected at the scene.
Initial investigations led by the county's criminal investigation officer have commenced, and the culprits will be brought to book, Mohammed assured.
