On Monday morning, a devastating flash flood swept away a vehicle carrying five members of the same family in Ngatatoek area, Kajiado Central, Kajiado County.
The victims, two adults and three children, were returning home from a wedding in Tanzania after a stopover in Namanga, where they spent the night at their relatives' home.
Area police commander Daudi Loronyokwe confirmed the incident, urging motorists and local residents to be on high alert during the ongoing rainy season.
The bodies of the deceased were moved to the Kajiado County Referral Hospital.
This tragic incident comes as the latest in a series of disasters caused by the ongoing rains, following the deaths of about 40 people in West Pokot County due to landslides in Nyarkulian and Parua villages.
