On the eve of the Kibra by-election, Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati received a chilling phone call from Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, who warned him of their intentions to kill him. The incident occurred on November 25, 2019, as reported by updates.co.ke.
Arati, however, remained calm and unfazed by the threats, stating that he was not afraid of death and was ready to face it. He emphasized that death is inevitable and that it doesn't matter at what age or time one dies.
Arati, a seasoned politician, has had his fair share of threats and intimidation, but he has never been shaken. He attributed his bravery to his upbringing as a son of a police officer, who taught him how to overcome such horrible spectacles.
Arati also criticized Sudi for declaring his ill intentions, saying that should anything happen to him or anyone kill him, his lineage would hold Sudi responsible, and he would soon follow him to the grave.
Despite Sudi's threats, Arati proceeded to unleash violence on Mariga's camp in Kibra, led by MP Didmus Barasa, on the day of the by-election. Sudi escaped early, but Arati remained undeterred, saying that he was a novice to such kinds of political bends and that his long experience in politics has taught him a lot.
Arati welcomed Sudi to carry on with his plans, clarifying that the plot would ultimately boomerang and affect them massively. He also emphasized that ideal schemers would never disclose such highly classified information.
Arati's tenacity and verve to confront issues have never been a doubt, and he laughed off people who attempt to threaten or intimidate him as focusing on non-issues.
As reported by Kenya Updates on November 25, 2019, Arati stated, 'I am not afraid of death, it is something that we will all have to face and I am ready for it.'
