Published on November 25, 2019, Vectra was recognized for its innovative sustainable solution that combines Point-of-Sale software with a speed point for card payments.
The company's achievement comes after it represented Cape Town at the Seedstars Africa Summit, where it won an all-inclusive trip to the Seedstars Global Summit in Switzerland. The winner of the summit will receive a $500,000 investment prize, as well as three months of access to the investment readiness program.
The Seedstars Africa Summit featured a prestigious jury, including Wasiu Afolabi, Principal Intellectual Property Officer at the University of Cape Town, and Johan Bosini, Partner at Quona Capital.
Additionally, GIZ awarded the title of best female entrepreneur to Prim-U, an on-demand booking platform that connects entrepreneurs in the beauty industry with customers.
Skudu and NuNanny took second and third place, respectively, in the competition. The other startups that pitched included Agaaain!, CYBAUG Getven.com, Matchbox, SkillsPassport South Africa, SolarTurtle, and Yaksê.
