Published on November 25, 2019, a 25-year-old tout, Job Nyabuto, has been charged with attempted defilement in Makadara Law Courts.
According to reports, Nyabuto was found with his 15-year-old girlfriend, a secondary school student, inside his house in Mathare, Nairobi.
The girl had visited Nyabuto, who is their neighbour, and when her relatives realized she was missing, they proceeded to his house where they found her locked up with him.
They locked them from outside and informed the girl's parents, who reported the matter to the police.
The two were later apprehended by the police and the girl was examined at a clinic, where it was established that she had not been sexually assaulted.
It was alleged that the two had been in a relationship and the girl had tried to elope with Nyabuto in August before her parents intervened.
Nyabuto denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Heston Nyaga and was freed on a bond of Sh 300,000 with a surety of similar amount.
The hearing of the case is set to start on March 24, 2020.
