On November 22, 2019, Administration Police Constable Daniel Etyang was shot dead along with his Uber driver in Ruaka, sparking outrage and calls for justice.
Teso North MP Dr. Oku Kaunya has now come forward, expressing his suspicion of foul play in the killing and urging the government's investigative agencies to expedite their investigations.
Dr. Kaunya, who spoke to Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC), described the late Daniel Etyang as a highly disciplined police officer, saying there could be other reasons behind the killing.
He called for the immediate arrest of whoever is culpable, stating that the family of the slain officer has already petitioned the Independent Policing and Oversight Authority (IPOA) over the matter.
Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo also expressed his outrage over the killings, describing the slain officer as a good man who had served as his assistant for four years.
