Tribute to Daniel Chemjor: A Colleague and Friend ¶
On November 20, 2019, the media industry lost a talented news director, Daniel Chemjor, in a tragic road accident. His passing was met with shock and sadness from his colleagues and friends, including K24 TV news anchor Ann Kiguta.
Ann Kiguta, who had known Chemjor for 13 years, took to the airwaves to pay a heartfelt tribute to her friend and colleague. She recalled how they both started their careers in the media industry, working their way up from the bottom to become successful professionals.
"I remember how we first met in the Standard Group...about 13 years ago when we both began our television careers," Kiguta tearfully narrated. "He worked so hard to become one of the finest news directors in the business, and I was one of the best directors I have ever worked with."
Chemjor was the head of news directors at Mediamax and was set to direct Kiguta's bulletin on the night of his passing. Kiguta regretted that she and Chemjor did not take time to celebrate each other's successes in their careers.
She concluded her tribute with a prayer, asking God to watch over Chemjor's young family. The outpouring of love and support for Chemjor and his family is a testament to the impact he had on those around him.
