On November 25, 2019, a joint manhunt by police officers from Kisauni and Nyali sub-counties led to the arrest of eight suspected gang members in Kisauni and Nyali.

The suspects were linked to a gang attack that left 12 people injured, with eight of them hospitalized with severe cuts and broken limbs.

According to Deputy County Commissioner Cyrus Gatobu, the gang, known as the '86 Battalion,' had been terrorizing residents in the area.

Following a tip-off, police traced the gang to their hideout in Mwandoni, where an early morning shootout ensued, leaving some of the gang members fleeing with gunshot wounds.

Residents are now calling on the government to deploy security in the area to wipe out the criminal gang.

The suspects are expected to appear in court on Monday.
