On Tuesday, police raided an apartment in Ruaka, uncovering a brothel where underage girls were being exploited. The brothel, located in a 3-bedroom house, was allegedly owned by ousted CS Rashid Echesa.
According to police investigations, a Form Two student from a school in Kiambu was recruited into the sex trade by a friend who promised her a lucrative deal. The girl escaped from school last month and was taken to the apartment in Ruaka, where she was promised Sh10,000 per day for her services.
Police rescued the girl and several others, including a student who had gone missing from a secondary school two months ago. The investigators found that the girl was forced to entertain up to 10 men per day, with some clients taking her to their homes for overnight stays.
Police recovered sex toys, condoms, and other evidence of the sex parties, which were allegedly held in the apartment. The suspects, including a 44-year-old man believed to be the brothel manager, were arrested and face serious charges.
The investigation into the child prostitution ring, allegedly linked to Rashid Echesa, is ongoing. The suspects could face lengthy prison sentences for their alleged crimes.
