On Sunday, November 24, 2019, the Kasarani Indoor Arena witnessed the thrilling conclusion of the 2019 KCB KVF National play offs.
KCB Group Head of Corporate and Regulatory Affairs, Judith Sidi Odhiambo, presented the winning teams with cash prizes of Kshs 250,000, 100,000, and 50,000 for the gold, silver, and bronze positions, respectively.
Chief Guest Judith Sidi Odhiambo praised the teams for their exceptional performance, stating, 'The country's focus should now be on the club championship; we have to wrestle the crown from North Africans and bring it back home.'
Kenya Prisons and KCB qualified for the ladies' team, while GSU and KPA secured spots in the men's category. KCB and Kenya Prisons defeated Kenya Pipeline 3-0 in their respective matches.
Deputy President of the Kenya Volleyball Federation, Charles Nyaberi, expressed satisfaction with the competition level, announcing plans to bring most games indoors in line with FIVB rules.
Charles Nyaberi also commended KCB Bank Kenya for sponsoring the league play offs for the second consecutive year, saying, 'We look forward to enhanced and continued partnership with the bank.'
KCB Head Coach Japheth Munala praised his team's resilience and improvement, stating, 'The team played quite well against the experienced Prisons side; we have improved greatly on the point victory margin against them.'
