On November 25, 2019, Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni stressed the significance of hard work in acquiring resources and wealth, stating that it is a non-negotiable requirement.
He commended hard work as a quality that has enabled him to bring about transformation in Uganda, saying that without it, an individual has no compass.
President Museveni dismissed claims that prayers and fasting can lead to riches, describing such thoughts as 'neanderthal and ignorant.'
“Stop hiding in the churches, go out there and engage in hard work,” the President advised.
He emphasized that hard work is a virtue that should be embraced by all, and that it is essential in democracies that want to progress in the 21st century.
President Museveni took pride in his administration's achievements, which he attributed to sheer hard work, and called on Africans to adopt this quality.
He criticized nations that rely on miraculous economic turnarounds, saying that the only thing lacking among them is hard work.
The Ugandan President urged fellow African leaders to instill the spirit of hard work in their citizens, adding that once it becomes a nation’s philosophy, the culture would be hard to dissolve.
