Magix Enga, a Kenyan singer and music producer, has made a surprising U-turn in his dispute with fellow musician Harmonize. Just a week ago, Enga threatened to pull down Harmonize's song Uno from YouTube after accusing him of stealing his Dundaing beats.
However, in a recent Instagram post, Enga announced that he has decided to release his copyright strike on Uno, effectively reversing his earlier decision to take down the song.
Enga revealed that he was convinced by popular music producer Clemmo to re-upload the video on YouTube, citing the importance of helping each other grow in the music industry.
Enga gave Harmonize a 2-day grace period before he also pulls down Uno's audio from YouTube, as seen in his Instagram post.
Enga's decision to forgive Harmonize comes after a week-long dispute, which has sparked a heated debate in the East African music industry.
Enga's Instagram post reads: '???? With #CLEMO @Ngomma ✌️Growth of East African music is bigger than all of us. And for this reason i have decided that I will release my copyright strike on Uno by Harmonize. I have decided to forgive the guy?? Nitarudisha Uno by Harmoize Pale YouTube Wakati wowote #MagixEnga #DontSampleMagixEngaBeats to watch Full video go on YouTube.. don’t forget to subscribe??? ✌️'
Enga's decision to forgive Harmonize has been met with mixed reactions from fans and fellow musicians, with some praising his willingness to let go of the dispute, while others have expressed disappointment at his decision.
