On a fateful night in 2019, singer Wendy Kemunto's life took a devastating turn when she was gang-raped by rugby players Frank Wanyama and Alex Mahaga. The incident has left her with deep emotional scars, and she has finally opened up about the traumatic experience.
According to Wendy, she had visited the house of one of the perpetrators, thinking it would be a safe and welcoming space. However, things took a dark turn, and she found herself in a compromising situation.
‘Things took a turn for the worst. It was only me and the two of them. I knew one of them and the plan was to sleep at his house, unfortunately, things did not happen as I had planned as I ended up being assaulted,' Wendy recounted.
She revealed that she was in and out of consciousness during the ordeal, and she believes she was drugged. When she realized what was happening, it was late, and the assault continued throughout the night.
Wendy also shared that when she tried to escape, she was pulled back and subjected to further assault. Each time she tried to flee, her assailants were aggressive, leaving her scared and helpless.
Shockingly, after the ordeal, her attackers thanked her and asked her to bring a friend along next time. Wendy was left feeling violated and traumatized, and she eventually called a friend to help her seek medical attention.
Wendy's story serves as a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of gang rape and the importance of seeking help and support.
