On November 22, 2019, journalist Eric Oloo was found dead in the house of Ugunya deputy OCS Sabina Kerubo, sparking a murder investigation.
A preliminary postmortem report has revealed that Oloo died from trauma caused by injury to his head and abdomen.
Government pathologist Gabriel Juma explained that the body had a blunt injury on the head and a severe hemorrhage intra-abdominally as a result of the blunt injury on the abdomen.
He spoke at Sega Funeral Home where the autopsy was conducted after the body was transferred from Ambira Hospital Mortuary.
Family pathologist Cedrick Tumbo said they have already handed over their report to the family and the police, allowing the family to proceed with burial arrangements.
Meanwhile, police have arrested a fifth suspect, Franklin Luta, in connection with the murder, bringing the total number of suspects to five.
However, family members expressed frustration that no suspects have been arraigned in court, with one relative questioning the police's handling of the case.
"A suspect is supposed to be presented in court within a period of 24 hours after his or her arrest. Why are the police handling our son's case casually," the relative said.
