From Corporate Executive to Zumba Enthusiast

Jillian Usagi, a certified Zumba fitness trainer, has come a long way from her corporate executive days. In 2016, she stumbled upon a Zumba class at a fitness centre in Valley Arcade, which marked the beginning of her journey with the popular dance fitness program.

Usagi, who owns and runs two companies - House of Chemicals and Solid Link International - was initially drawn to Zumba for its fun and energetic atmosphere. She quickly discovered that the program not only provided a full-body workout but also helped her manage stress and anxiety.

As she continued to attend Zumba classes, Usagi noticed a significant change in her life. She felt happier, looked better, and had more energy. The weight she had gained due to her busy corporate schedule started to fall off, and she felt more confident and empowered.

From Passion to Business

Usagi's passion for Zumba eventually led her to become a certified trainer. In 2018, she traveled to Orlando, Florida, for an international Zumba convention, where she met other trainers from around the world. Inspired by their stories and experiences, Usagi decided to take her passion for Zumba to the next level by starting her own business, The Running Room.

Usagi partnered with Liz Kabeu, a fellow Zumba enthusiast and certified fitness trainer, to launch The Running Room. The venture aims to bring Zumba classes to corporate offices, providing employees with a fun and healthy way to stay active during their lunch breaks or after work.

Usagi's goal is not only to spread the joy of Zumba but also to create jobs and empower others to pursue their passions. With The Running Room, she hopes to make a positive impact on the lives of her employees and clients, while also promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.
