According to the report, 75% of Kenyans devote significant effort to upskilling, with 84% willing to reskill for a new job. This is higher than the global average of 65% and 67% respectively.
The study also revealed that 77% of Kenyans use on-the-job training for learning, followed by 47% who use self-learning and 45% who learn through seminars and conferences.
Some other resources used for learning include traditional learning institutions at 35%, online educational institutions at 34%, mobile apps at 18%, and government programmes at 6%.
Respondents in China, Nigeria, Egypt, and Kenya feel most affected by megatrends, with the latter leading in the time devoted to learning.
BCG Nairobi office Partner and Managing Director Mills Schenck noted that organisations need to foster a culture of upskilling and reskilling within their workforce to avoid skills gaps in the future.
